Shipping Policy


Shipping Time -- Most orders are shipped within the same business day. Particularly large orders may require more time to process. You will receive a confirmation E-mail once your order is shipped.  Please be sure to check your E-mails and make sure you are using a valid E-mail address.

International orders and U.S. Standard Mail arrives within about 4-21 business days. U.S. Priority mail arrives within about 2-3 business days.  U.S. Express Mail arrives within 1-2 business days.  

 

Business days do not include weekends or holidays.  

 

Shipping is calculated after discounts have been applied.

 

We cannot guarantee when an order will arrive. It depends upon the shipping carrier or the postal service in your country. International orders may be subject to customs inspection. We encourage you to order in a timely manner to avoid delays caused by shipping or product availability.

We will not be responsible for any delays in shipments due to adverse weather conditions beyond our control!

"What if the estimated delivery date has passed and I still don't have my order?"

All packages shipped have tracking information which we send with the shipping confirmation E-mail.  Please check this tracking information and read through the following options:

  • Shipping times are only estimates.  Please check the tracking information before contacting us to find out the status of your package.
  • Shipments through USPS Express, UPS and FedEx require a signature.  Please make sure someone is available to accept the package.  After several delivery attempts the package will be returned.   We are not responsible for delays due to incorrect address information.
  • If the tracking information indicates the package has been delivered, please check with your neighbors or family members. Packages are occasionally left with neighbors, a building manager, or are placed somewhere relatively safe such as your porch, garage, or even behind bushes.
  • If the tracking information indicates the package is being returned to us, or if the address is incorrect, it may have been undeliverable.
  • If there is no tracking information, or you cannot locate the package tracking information and it is not being returned as undeliverable, please contact us.

Orders shipped to addresses outside of the Continental USA will ship by Air Mail and the rates will be displayed at checkout. 


Several options to select faster International shipping at various rates are available if desired.

 

We reserve the option to ship your package with a faster method of delivery or carrier at no additional cost to you.  You are notified by E-mail regarding the method of shipment, along with tracking information.

 

Your Credit Card or PayPal, is charged at the time the order is placed.  Any adjustments will be made after the order is completed.


Credit Cards And Other Other Forms Of Payment


We accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express; and Discover. We also accept PayPal.  If you wish to send the funds you can pay with  Euros, Canadian dollars or British pounds..  There is no surcharge for using your credit card to make purchases. Please be sure to provide your exact billing address and telephone number (i.e. the address and phone number your credit card bank has on file for you).  

For some countries outside the U.S. you won't be able to make a payment using the online credit card or PayPal option.  If you don't see the "pay by credit card" or PayPal option you will need to send us the payment in cash.  Please let us know if you need further help. 

 

Please be sure you have filled in the 3 digit (4 digit for AMEX) security code on your card. (Please note this is not the same as the last 3-4 digits of your credit card number. Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order. You will receive a refund for any adjustments to your order.

These discounts are applied automatically and require no code.  These discounts may not be combined with other discounts or specials.

 

Discounts do not apply towards gift certificate purchases.


Gift Certificates

When an adjustment needs to be made for your order because of an item being sold out or for other reasons we will offer you a store credit as an option.  You can get a refund to the payment method you used if you prefer.  The store credit is issued in the form of a Thursday's Golden Goodies gift certificate.  We send the gift certificate by E-mail along with instructions on how to redeem.  The gift certificate does not expire.  You may use the multiple gift certificate volume and special mailing list member discounts.  

Gift certificates bought through our site or redeemed with bonus points can only be used on a future order with Thursday's Golden Goodies.  There are no refunds on gift certificates.  Once issued they can only be used as payment for an order with Thursday's Golden Goodies.  Gift certificates don't expire.  They can be used with volume and special mailing list member discounts.   

The system does not know if you have an open gift certificate when you place the order.  It is up to you to enter the code at checkout.  The gift certificate can't be retroactively applied to a completed order.  We do send reminders out to those who have open gift certificates.  


Gradings

 


WE USE A 1 (worst) to 10 (best) GRADING SYSTEM! For records WITH sleeves/covers, the vinyl is graded first, the sleeve/cover second. Example: NM9/VG7 means NM9 vinyl/VG7 sleeve. 

VINYL RECORDS ARE GRADED AS FOLLOWS:

M10 = mint. The record appears new, as though never played. If it has indeed been played, the record shows no wear at all.

 

NM9 = near mint. The record appears new at first glace, but a closer look reveals that it may have been played. It shows minimal wear, if any.

 

EX8 = excellent. Better than VG but below NM. Although this record seems to have been played, it is in great condition. It is likely that this record has had only one previous owner who took good care of it.  May have writing or sticker.  May have minor wear.

 

VG7 = very good. This record sounds good. Expect to see moderate wear.  May have writing or sticker.  Should play nicely for a long, time.

 

VG6 = Slightly better than G. This record has visibly seen some play. Expect it to have heavy scratches as well as writing on the label. Still this record plays, assuring listening pleasure for years to come.

 

G5 = good. This record still plays.  It shows considerable wear, likely from years of play and perhaps changing hands. There may be writing and/or stickers on the label, as well as visible scratches on the vinyl.  We only would list a record with condition if it is rare and collectible.  

 

G4 = Better than POOR but Below G. This is the lowest grading we will list. This record shows a lot of wear and may have markings/sticker on label. It plays rough, but has visibly seen a lot of handling. We only would list a record with condition if it is rare and collectible.

 

wol = has writing on label. Although this flaw has been considered in the overall grading, the "wol" notation allows for a more accurate grading.

PICTURE SLEEVES & ALBUM COVERS

 

M10 = mint. A sleeve/cover in this condition appears as though it was just picked off a shelf at a retail store. It shows no marks or damage at all.

 

NM9 = This sleeve/cover is flawless at first glance. Any wear at all would be minimal.

 

EX8 = excellent. Better than VG but below NM. This sleeve looks great. It may have some minor wear, but no real damage of any kind.

 

VG7 = very good. Although it looks great at first sight, a closer look at this sleeve/cover may reveal some minor damage such as wear, some writing, minor tears.

 

VG6 = Better than G but below VG. This sleeve looks very good, but a closer look may show some wear and markings.

 

G5 = good. This sleeve looks good, but may show some flaws such as considerable wear, writing and scribbles, fading of colors and tears.

 

G4 = This is our lowest listed grading. Barely good, yet slightly better than poor. This sleeve looks ok, but may have major wear, slight tears, markings, etc.

 

woc = has writing on cover/sleeve. Although this flaw has been considered in the overall grading, the "woc" notation allows for more accurate grading.

 

soc = has sticker on cover/sleeve. Although this flaw has been considered in the overall grading, the "soc" notation allows for more accurate grading.

 

We are unable to send additional picture scans or fetch individual items for more details.  The condition of this item is listed under item details and/or in the description.

 

Most records are only visually graded.  We are unable to play most before listing due to volume.

 

Not all minor flaws of an item may be spelled out in the description. All 45s shipped with a paper sleeve or picture sleeve (cover). 

 

Only if the description (and picture) shows a company sleeve and/or juke box label should you expect these to be included. Juke box label styles may vary. If a company sleeve is included, described and pictured, it will be exactly as pictured. All LPs have a cover and at least a plain inner sleeve; we do not guarantee original company sleeves unless stated in item description and/or shown in the picture.

We use this information to process your orders, to keep you updated on your orders and to personalize your shopping experience.

You may unsubscribe from our newsletters by following the unsubscribe instructions in any email you receive from us or use the link on any of our pages.

Returns


We must have your E-mail address and/or telephone number on file. We will NOT correspond by "snail mail".

 

We now offer optional INSURANCE on all orders for the rare chance of damaged delivery or lost merchandise. The fee for this service is based on total purchase price of merchandise and must be requested by customer at time of purchase. All claims for INSURED orders will be processed directly by the USPS or our insurance carrier with claim information provided by customer. 

 

Any claims or problems with UNINSURED orders will be subject to our regular RETURN POLICY, which requires a timely return of merchandise for a refund or replacement. INSURED merchandise claims may be processed without a return of merchandise, as these are handled directly through the USPS or our insurance carrier.

 

100% Refund of  PURCHASE PRICE (no refund of shipping & handling fees!) within 5 days of receipt of merchandise. All refunds, credits or exchanges will be for replacement of RETURNED merchandise only.

 

Returns must be postmarked within 5 days of receipt for full refund without penalties. Returns made AFTER 5 days but BEFORE 10 days of receipt are granted a ONE TIME 100% trade credit.

 

Merchandise listed as SEALED or UNOPENED may be returned ONLY in SEALED or UNOPENED condition.

 

Merchandise ordered by mistake can be returned in original UNOPENED package ONLY for full refund of purchase price, NOT shipping.  

 

If you place an order by mistake and let us know right away before your items have been shipped out you may still be charged up to the full shipping & handling fee depending the stage of processing. Once a package has shipped the order can't be canceled.   Be sure you know what you are ordering.  

 

In lieu of a one-time 100% trade credit for 6-10 day returns, customers may elect a cash refund less 20% re-stocking fee.

 

Returns of multiple items are subject to a 20% re-stocking fee or may receive a one-time 100% trade credit.

 

Credits do NOT count toward volume discounts or FREE domestic shipping. Absolutely no returns or exchanges later than 10 days after receipt.

 

You must CONTACT US FIRST to get authorization to return or exchange any item. Returned packages must have delivery confirmation for proof that we received the returned item. Absolutely NO returns accepted if they were shipped through a third party (Overnight Service paid by company, etc.).

 

If any discounts were given, these will be deducted before a refund is paid for returned merchandise. Refunds on orders initially given FREE shipping will include retroactively applied/deducted shipping cost. Refunds on orders for which a flat shipping rate was charged (i. e. Priority Mail) are subject to deduction of actual postage expended, if this amount exceeds the amount initially charged.

 

Returns paid by credit card or PayPal can receive instant repayment to account. Returns paid by any other means than credit card may only receive a ONE TIME store credit.

 

Payments made for unavailable items turn to ONE TIME store credit ONLY. No unpaid items inquired about are held or reserved until payment is received.

 

No returns on supplies, bulk records or 99c bargain items. No guarantee of availability for items not paid for at time of inquiry.


 

Taxes


Orders shipped to an Ohio address will be subject to a 6.75% tax.  Effective September 1, 2013.
